Abandoned Swimming Pool in Isaan – A Reminder About Life

Today I was driving through an area where we built a swimming pool many years ago. On impulse, I decided to stop by an old customer’s house. I didn’t even know if anyone was home.
When I arrived, the gate was closed. The place looked empty and abandoned. It was clear that life had taken a different turn for this family a few years ago.
Through the fence, I could see the swimming pool system had been turned off for a long time. The water was in very bad shape. For me, it was a sad sight to see – a reminder that without care, even the most beautiful pool will quickly lose its sparkle.
But this visit also made me think about life itself. Sometimes things go down. Sometimes people face difficulties that leave things neglected. But just as with swimming pools, life always has the chance to rise up again, to be cleaned, restored, and brought back to full beauty.
I took a few pictures through the fence today. They are not happy photos, but they tell a story – about change, about challenges, and about hope.
At **Sakon SwimmingPool**, we build pools meant to last a lifetime. Even if life takes a pause, the structure and quality remain. When the time is right, a pool can always be brought back to life – just like people.
Memories From the Buriram Project
More than six years ago, we built a 10 x 5 meter swimming pool in Buriram. It was a beautiful project, with one of my favorite tiles at the time and a Sandwash finish that gave the pool a clean and elegant look. We added a saltwater system for easy maintenance and RGB LED lights that could change color and bring the evenings to life.
The pool was built for a Norwegian man and his lovely wife, who both enjoyed their time here in Thailand. But as life often does, things changed. He eventually stopped coming back to Thailand, while she chose a new path and moved to the islands.
Here are some pictures from the building process… a reminder of how nice the pool looked when it was brand new, more than six years ago.
